PERSONAL PROFILE
To sum myself up I would say I am a hard worker,
who enjoys the challenge of learning new
skills. I have no problems communicating with people, from managers to the general public.
I'm a team player, most of my work places have been team based though I enjoy working on my
own to deadlines, as I see this as a challenge.
I am looking to progress to management level working on the web, I'ed say I'm up to supervisory level at the moment, as I teach Web skills to new trainees and have an NVQ 3 which is a supervisory level qualification. I need more experiance but have taken to it like a duck to water and have found learning coding and programs pretty easy stuff.

WORK HISTORY
September 1999-Present Web factory, Centre 88, Saner Street, Hull Web site designer/developer. This involves using design skills to set up web sites, I have a good working knowledge of HTML, and as I'm a touch typist (a skill learned at my time working for the Royal Mail) I can produce a page quickly and easily. With my cartooning skills and the help of Macromedia Fireworks 2, Coral 6 and paint shop pro, I produce a cartoon strip each week for the Porthole. The skills I have learned doing this give me great scope in the world of web design, ie Rollovers, image maps, animation. The back ground picture to this page was drawn by myself, just a doodle but it captures the kind of dynamic guy I am.
September 1997-August 1998 Royal Mail, Salthouse Road, Sutton Fields, Hull Postman Higher Grade (PHG) Sorted both incoming and outgoing mail for Hull. This included fast accurate typing skills, being a team member and good communicator, good hand to eye coordination, physical fitness and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
1997 Transamerica Trust, Hull Here I typed letters to clients, carried out credit checks using my IT skills, as well as dealing with logging payments, both cash and cheques, I was also trusted to take payments to the bank.
1996 Huttons International, Hedon Rd, Hull
This was a work placement that lasted 10 months, I started in the Quotes department
finding the prices of items for the two senior staff, I was then moved to the ordering
department, ordering stock and logging it onto the computer.
I was then moved into the Inward goods department this was mostly checking and logging deliverys
using the computer, the department was then split, I was given my own office and my job was to
log each days deliverys on to the system, as well as filing delivery notes and invoices, and
finding lost stock in the warehouse, I still helped out in the other departments on slack days.
A member of staff who was thought not to be coming back after her maternity leave did return
and as her job no longer existed due to internal change and as I was only on a work placement
I was asked to train her to do my job and then layed off.
1994 Oughtred and Harrison, Beverley Rd, Hull Here I manually stored and retrieved legal and office files for various companies around Hull.
TRAINING
1999-2000, NVQ levels 1 & 2 in "Web site Design"
I am also working on 3 other web based qualifications at the moment, these will be included
when complete.
September 1999, Certificate in "Basic Health and Safety" Accredited by the chartered institute of environmental health, I am also working towards a web authoring qualification.
1997, NVQ level 3 in "Information Technology" Accredited by City & Guilds Had 3 month work placement.
1994-1996, NVQ level 2 in "Business Administration" Accredited by RSA Had 2 work placements both for 10 months.
INTERESTS
In my spare time I Weight train three times a week, (most people say this but I really do.) I also keep fit walking as theres little else to do in my village. I'm a cartoonist and have been drawing most of my life with about three published works to my name, most of my artwork now appears on the Web. I play pool and socialize locally. I also enjoy Skiing, Water Skiing and horse riding when I get the opportunity.
