GuestHouse Paradiso.

Featuring Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmunsons as Richie and Eddie, the sexually deprived 30 ( or now probably 40 ) something year olds who decide to take over a Guest house teetering on the Pretty cliffs of somewhere - in - England.

The basic storyline is the house is falling to bits and the staff keep leaving/getting drunk . They don't get many customers and when they do they scare them away by being perverted and/or rude. The main plot begins by Eddie discovering some fish by the side of the road ( just next to the entrance to the Toxic waste plant next door ) and deciding they would make a lovely main course for the glamorous new guest they have just recieved ( yes go on then, guess what happens !)

This film has already taken a battering from the press and critics of the film world . Fair enough the plot is not exactly Hollywood worthy but I feel people are forgetting that you don't go to see these two to get oscar style acting and a tear jerking twist. You go to see them for the predictable violence and the sexist desperate attitude towards woman! As always it was the perfect portrayal of two middle aged desperate lonely men - I think the critics that saw this film just realised that these characters are not exaggerated that much and indeed could be them in a few years time . Not a masterpiece by any means but true fans of Bottom and any other work that Ade and Rik have done ,will enjoy this film.

Rik Mayall plays Richie Twat pronounced "Thwait" but spelled twat and Ade Edmondson plays Eddie. These two characters are the same as Richard Richard and Eddie Hitler from bottom, which can only be a good thing.

Anyway the plot Richie and Eddie have come into possession of the Guest House Paradiso an old Knackered Hotel next door to a Nuclear power station. Richie is the hotel manager and Eddie his trusty assistant there is also an appearance by Spud Gun (from Bottom) As the Hairy foreign Chef. Eddie and riche waste no time insulting guests and steeling there belongings and getting into some Hilariously Violent fights involving fire extinguishers, Meat hooks, plenty of shots to the groin with many different implements and the almost legendary slamming the head in the refrigerator door routine. The film continues this way until Anna cabonara the world famous porn star turns up unannounced after not turning up at her wedding to an Italian playboy. Richie instantly falls in love with her, which makes him even more sick, depraved and perverse. The film comes to its climax with Richie and Eddie poisoning all the guests with radioactive fish and some incredibly disgusting projectile vomiting. This film will be one of the best films you've seen this year if you take it for what it is and that is toilet humour mixed with mindless violence, so go and watch it do it now before I come round to your house and trap your fingers in you're front door.
