A wide range of reading material is now available covering the fortunes or rather lack of fortunes of Hull City AFC.
Three books have been released in the run up to Christmas.
The Hull City Saga: written by David Bond and brought out by the Hull Daily Mail.
Hull City League record. Mike Peterson. |
Images of Sport - Hull City Football club: Chris Elton
128 page book covering the history of City in photographic image. Photos right through from a 1904 team up to the 1990’s. Covers the famous sides and players. We assume the famous fat landlord of the Marlborough club will be in --- The legendary if slightly ego-centric Ken Wagstaff. (Waggy)
All books are worth buying for City fans. If we spend £10 a game watching them well three similarly priced books are just as good value and you go back to these time and time again unlike many games which many try to forget as soon as you reach the Three Tuns after the match.
Available from decent City centre bookshops i.e Browns and the City shop on the second floor of Princes Quay, opposite Tandy. Buy a book support the club and by some ‘Roary the Tiger’ merchandise whilst you are there. Roary the mascot being of course the one true star of the season so far. The only mascot to be sent off for taking the piss out of opposition fans (after picking on the pathetic excuse of a mascot the previous week!) Roary is star!
AS for magazines. The CITY INDEPENDENT is available at every home game. Nine editions have been published so far this season and it’s only January! £1 on matchdays or available at Syd Scarboroughs (Downstairs - Albums counter) The best and obviously most frequent fanzine. This was previously called TOSS!. The magazine is informative, humorous and follows it’s own independent path on the off field divisions at the club. Basically you do not necessarily trust the p[eople who do run the club or the other faction who want control back again. Nothing really changes at City and we are still near the bottom of Division 3.
The other fanzines are Amber Nectar, only one issue this season so far and Three o’clock at Kempton, again only one issue this season . Both available at Syds as well for £1.
